If you're off to the coast with a group of friends, there is so much on offer to tempt you. A lively group might head for one of the big party resorts like Blackpool, Brighton, or a coastal city like Liverpool or Newcastle. There's a lot going on in Cardiff, Bristol, Plymouth and Edinburgh too.
If your group of friends is active, you might choose to head for the great outdoors - Snowdonia perhaps, the Lake District, the West coast of Scotland, Argyll or the Highlands. In all these places, there is walking, climbing, and the chance to see magnificent scenery.
Of course, you could always take your break on the water - sharing a boat on the Norfolk Broads, or going to a sailing centre, such as Poole, Chichester Harbour, the Solent, or the Essex coast. You can learn to sail in many places around the coast, and other seaborne activities are offered too. How about trying surfing in Cornwall or North Devon? Or diving lessons in the Borders?
If you are looking for a break from the pressure of daily life, there are numerous spa and health resorts around the country in stunning locations, and we've got some great deals on offer here on BritishCoastGuide.com.
